Summer Camps for 2024
Crazy Chemworks
Your Jr Chemist will create surprising concoctions, break molecules with ease & shake up a flask full of fun. They'll use the tools, safety procedures & laboratory techniques of real chemists as they investigate solids, liquids and gases at the atomic level. Craft chemical combinations to create super-sticky-stuff & discover properties of light.
Exploring the elements has never been so much fun!
Creative Contraptions
Join us on a journey of discovery. Each day campers are given fun challenges which they overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and most important of all… Their mind!
Follow in the footsteps of da Vinci, Edison and the Wright Bros. Construct catapults & forts, fabricate innovative flying machines, and design your own gizmo prototypes.
Super Science Sampler
Mad Science comes in all shapes and sizes and this hands-on expedition will examine a few.
Become an engineer and build bridges, domes, cubes, and pyramids. Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and simple machines. Use chemistry to make your own sidewalk chalk and bath bombs. Behold birds and beasts as we discover the animal kingdom!
Underground Explorers
We’ll unearth the past in this archeology and paleontology camp. Discover and practice the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities and dinosaur bones. We’ll study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits and fossils to understand what they can tell us about history! Each class includes a make and take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins.

Here's what parents have to say about our camps!
Both of our boys did Mad Science summer camps when they were younger, and loved the experience! It was a very fun and interactive experience for them. And counselor Beth Morrell is the best!!!

My son attended the Earth, Space & Beyond Mad Science Camp last summer and absolutely loved it! The hours were convenient for our family, and the location was close by for us. We're sending him again to a Mad Science camp this upcoming summer. These are well run camps, in our experience, and I recommend them for people looking for a fun, science-based camp experience.

My son participated in a true "camp" with horses, swimming, fishing and hiking and he was MORE excited about this camp than anything else he's done all summer. Great job on your end!

FAQ
Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!
+Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?
Mad Science instructors tend to be college students pursing an education or science degree, former/retired teachers, or teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check.
+What is the child to instructor ratio?
The child to instructor ratio varies depending on enrollment. We always have at least one instructor for every 12-15 students.
